Denmark

Danish organisation Levende Hav works for the preservation of the marine landscape, to guarantee a diversity of marine flora and fauna, and to ensure that future fisheries are based on ecological principles and are sustainable both economically and socially.

Lighthouse Foundation - Foundation for the seas and oceans

Germany

In support for research, education, and capacity building in coastal and marine conservation, the Lighthouse Foundation promotes science and research, teaching, culture, and the principles of environmentalism and international development in relation to the world's seas and oceans. The Foundation supports projects which aim to solve long-term problems in marine locations with the context of sustainable development, including rising sea levels, fisheries, education about the marine environment and sustainable development.

Living Oceans Society

Canada

Living Oceans Society focuses its work on six initiatives: salmon farming, ocean acidification, sustainable seafood, ocean ecosystems, tankers and ocean planning

Love Wildlife Foundation

Thailand

Love Wildlife is dedicated to protecting southeast Asian wildlife through outreach and education. This includes a strong marine component, with several projects include Project Deep Blue (in partnership with New Heaven Dive School) which provides marine programmes to school groups in Thailand, both providing support to the livelihood for the local communities as well as educate students about marine conservation and the environment. Their Cetacean Protection Project is, amongst other activities, involved in regulating the imports of dolphins and whales for shows in Thailand, and their Fin Free Thailand campaign encourages both food providers and consumers to protect sharks, not to eat them.

MCS in Scotland

UK

MCS in Scotland is just as it says, the Scottish arm of the UK's Marine Conservation Society. They focus on marine conservation and fisheries management. MCS Scotland leads the Save Scottish Seas coalition to influence the Scottish Government and Scottish Parliament on all matters marine. This includes influencing policy and the law (Marine (Scotland) Act, and a fisheries strategy), creating 36 new MPAs including the largest in Europe, implementing a National Marine Plan, gaining protection for the most vulnerable inshore MPAs from fishing, influencing policy on plastic and other pollution.

MaREI, the SFI Research Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine

Ireland

MaREI is the SFI Research Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine research and innovation co-ordinated by the Environmental Research Institute (ERI) at University College Cork. The Centre comprises over 220 researchers focusing on defined global challenges such as the Energy Transition, Climate Action and the Blue Economy.

MaRHe

Italy

MaRHE is part of the University of Milan - Bicocca (Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca), with the purpose of carrying out research and educational activities in environmental science and marine biology, tourism science and human geography. Part of this is to educate on protection of the marine environment and its biodiversity, as well as to use and manage its resources responsibly. MaRHE works closely with the government of the Maldives on projects to promote sustainable fishing and protection of the coral reefs in the area.

MareVivo

Italy

Marevivo is a significant Italian environmental association that protects the sea and its resources, focusing in particular on biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, enhancement and promotion of marine protected areas, combatting pollution and illegal fishing. They promote education in schools and universities, and act as an advocate influencing law and policy with many successful campaigns in Italy, such as recently the ban of microplastics in rinse-off cosmetics and the ban on sea cucumber fishing. Marevivo relies on the work of hundreds of volunteers and thousands of members scattered all over Italy, with representation throughout the country in the form of delegations in more than 25 centres. They are organised into diving, sailing, canoe & kayak, beaches and shore divisions.

Marine Conservation Alliance promotes healthy oceans and sustainable fisheries to feed the world. It is a community of concerned individuals that believe in science-based management and progressive projects that promote stewardship, healthy oceans and sustainable fisheries.

Marine Conservation Cambodia

Cambodia

Marine Conservation Cambodia is a fully licensed research facility specializing in seahorse research in Cambodia, as well as research into the surrounding reefs and benthic areas. Based on Koh Ach Seh in Kep Province.

Marine Conservation Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland

Marine Conservation Northern Ireland are lobbying our Government to present the argument for the protection and promotion of fish stocks for the purpose of recreational Sea Angling (RSA), initially through the implementation of marine protect areas(MPA’s).
