Amongst the many free education resources created by Cool Australia is one focused on marine conservation: Ocean Conservation Education Resources. These lessons are all about the ocean, engaging students in ocean science and supporting young people to be active and aware of science-driven research. They offer projects for all year levels – from understanding our impact on the ocean, marine life and its importance in the eco-system to citizen science projects to get your students active and engaged in our environment through science.
Coral Cay Conservation

Since 1986 Coral Cay Conservation has worked in 14 countries, on over 17 projects, and are internationally awarded for their achievements in environmental conservation. They have a field base in Egypt. Operating in Asia, Central America, and Africa, one of their many initiatives was the Southern Leyte Coral Reef Conservation Project in Philippines (2002-2020). They facilitate volunteer work on projects globally.
Coral Gardeners
French Polynesia
The Coral Gardeners, based in Mo’orea in French Polynesia, aims to “change the world, one coral reef at a time”, via raising awareness and funds for reef restoration projects, using social media, merchandise and their Adopt a Super Coral programme. Their restoration work involves identifying super corals and growing super coral fragments until they are mature enough to be transplanted back onto the reef, with more than 15,000 corals have been replanted already. They are innovating new techniques using AI and smart sensors to observe and monitor the coral nurseries in real-time.
Coral Sea Foundation

The Coral Sea Foundation’s mission is to raise awareness of the ecological and social value of the Coral Sea and Eastern Coral Triangle and to be proactive in its sustainable management. Combining an ethos of science, gender equity, ecotourism, and sustainability, the Foundation works with traditional owners to develop marine reserves that enhance fisheries and ecotourism resources, while improving the basic quality of life of people in our partner villages. Their primary program is Sea Women of Melanesia, empowering women in PNG and Solomon Islands in developing marine conservation expertise. They also have a Vessel Deployment Program that is developing an Expedition Vessel (catamaran) uniquely adapted to operations in the Coral Sea.
Coral Triangle Centre
Indonesia
CTC is based in Bali with a regional scope and global impact. Working closely with local communities, private sector, governments, and partners, they strengthen marine resource management in the Coral Triangle to protect coral reef ecosystems, ensure sustainable livelihoods, and food security. CTC supports on-the-ground conservation in Nusa Penida in Bali, Banda Islands in Maluku, as well as Atauro Island and Liquica in Timor-Leste. They are developing a Center for Marine Conservation in Bali to serve as an integrated learning space for training programs, outreach activities, and artistic and cultural performances to influence millions of people to care for the oceans and those that depend on it.

Switzerland
Coralive.org focuses on 'coral reef restoration and protection, management of marine protected areas, conservation education and developing alternative livelihood programs for coastal communities'. They have developed a method to accelerate coral growth and enhance coral resiliency via mineral accretion technology. Their coral restoration projects are active in Jamaica, Madagascar, Kenya, Seychelles, Maldives and Philippines. Seagrass and mangroves are also in their sights, with replantings and transplanting projects underway in places such as the Maldives. They are also involved in MPA management in Madagascar.
DEEPWAVE e.V

DEEPWAVE e.V. was founded in 2003 by the marine biologist and deep sea researcher Onno Groß and a small group of ocean enthusiasts in Hamburg. Since then, it has successfully campaigned regionally and internationally for the protection of the oceans and their inhabitants. DEEPWAVE's goal is to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly structures for the marine ecosystem, as well as to inspire individuals to conserve the oceans. They do this by raising awareness of the threats to the oceans, spreading scientific knowledge, contributing to improve marine policies, and providing a forum for networking.
Dakshin Foundation

Dakshin Foundation’s mission is to inform and advocate conservation and natural resource management, while promoting and supporting sustainable livelihoods, social development and environmental justice. Their work aims at building community capacities for conservation and the benefits thereof. The marine component of their work focuses on biodiversity and resource monitoring, including sustainable fishing and a marine flagships programme which includes sea turtles, sharks and rays, sea snakes and coral reefs, in each instance engaging the community in monitoring and conservation initiatives.

Their missions is to use their creative skills and vision in order to create powerful images that will raise awareness and educate people about ocean conservation and all the issues that marine creatures are facing nowadays. Delfin de Ponente
Italy
The Delfini del Ponente APS is a young association of scientists and professionals with a focus on protection of the sea and its creatures, all with an interest in conserving the biodiversity of Western Liguria in Italy. Monitoring cetaceans and other marine wildlife including seabirds in the Western Ligurian Sea is their main activity, largely focused on the bottlenose dolphin, a species that lives in coastal shallow waters. In addition, they present educational activities to cultivate an environmental culture, including internships. They are based in the city of Imperia, positioned in a central area of the “Pelagos Sanctuary”.

The German Foundation for Marine Conservation is a group of committed animal welfare and nature conservation advocates, who fight for the protection of threatened marine animals and the preservation of marine habitats. They support and carry out projects, campaigns, and initiatives aimed at conserving marine life. This includes marine & nature conservation; animal welfare; science and research; and development cooperation. Since 2022 they have had a long term eDNA Project on Fiji-Island to identify habitats of guitarfish species and of young bullsharks. They support projects to protect sharks, rays, sea turtles and marine mammals, restoration of coral reefs and seagrass beds, for sustainable fishing and ocean cleanups. Their educational and awareness-raising work aims at anchoring the importance of marine conservation in people's minds and actions. Dilmah Conservation

Dilmah Conservation was established with the stated purpose ' to extend the Dilmah philosophy of making business a matter of human service, to include the protection of and sustainable interaction with the environment'. To this end, they are involved in many areas of conservation, including a marine programme which focuses on conserving marine habitats (including 'carrying out species diversity assessments, information sharing and working with relevant local and national institutions to ensure conservation of these habitats') and conserving the endangered Dugong via an information dissemination campaign targeting school children and fisher communities in the North of the country, as well as carrying out surveys and information gathering.
