Description

BirdLife International is a global partnership of conservation organisations, which established its Marine Programme in 1997. They work with BirdLife Partner organisations around the world and in the high seas 'to advocate for seabirds and their habitats. We use our strong scientific research and new technologies to identify solutions: how and where to act to save seabirds from extinction.' This includes working with fisheries across the world to prevent bycatch of seabirds and other marine animals. Note that the establishment of Marine Protected Areas is one strategy which protects seabirds.
