Its advocacy programs focus on environmental issues (including the marine environment), highlighting their social, political and human rights contexts.

Friends of the Sea Otter was an advocacy group working with state and federal agencies to maintain protection for sea otters and to increase and broaden preservation efforts. Fundacion Cayos Cochinos , also known as the Honduras Coral Reef Fund (HCRF), was established in 1994 to conserve and protect the area known today as a Marine Natural Monument, Cayos Cochinos. Under the provisions of a Co-management agreement with the Forest Conservation Institute, the Foundation executes the management of the Protected Area. They are a member of the WIDECAST network.

The overall objective of FMME is to conduct research which can be applied towards the comprehensive management Marine Megafauna populations for the sustainable benefit of local Ecuadorian and Galapagos Islands communities. Their research focuses on Manta Rays and Whale Sharks, collecting data and obtaining unique results of these species which have been used by governmental and non-governmental organizations to make law changing decisions and have contributed to the protection and conservation of these and other Marine Megafauna species and their ecosystems.

Fundación Terram, one of Chile’s oldest environmental organizations, works on urban and rural environmental issues, including marine conservation. They contribute to the creation of a country development model, based on democracy, transparency, respect for rights, environmental justice, protection of nature and care for the environment. Their current work is focused on the theme of the use of nature and natural resources, including Climate Change, Water, Biodiversity, Pollution, Territorial Planning, Mining, Energy and Fishing and Salmon Farming.

Fundacion Tortugas del Mar contributes to the knowledge, recovery and conservation of marine turtles and their associated ecosystems in the Caribbean and Colombian Pacific, through scientific research, environmental education and community and inter-institutional collaboration. Member of WIDECAST

The Tourtugas Foundation is a young organization committed to protecting natural resources, biodiversity and sustainable development in Colombia.
