Earth Island Institute

Earth Island Institute is known for its activism on environmental issues. Founded in 1982 by environmentalist David Brower, it is a non-profit environmental organization and fiscal sponsor to more than seventy-five projects working in the areas of conservation, including amongst many others, projects related to the oceans. Not without controversy, they have targeted fishing methods and plastic pollution of the oceans, amongst many other issues.
