Marine conservation awareness and education, Protection of marine life, Sawfish

The Sawfish Conservation Society’s mission is to connect the world to advance global sawfish education, research, and conservation. The SCS is a group of researchers, aquarists, managers, fishers, and enthusiasts that came together to rescue sawfishes from extinction. They began in 2009 as a Facebook Group, becoming a charity in 2018. The SCS practices a multifaceted approach to sawfish conservation by providing outreach materials and hosting events to support sawfish education, providing sawfish researchers with tools and platforms to help them pursue their studies and promote collaboration, and assisting with enforcement of protective legislation.
