The organisation is mandated to carry out an array of activities including research, training, community capacity building, environmental awareness and advocacy and environmental conservation. COMRED works with the grassroots coastal communities of Kenya empowering them to seek local solutions to local problems.
Conservacion ConCiencia
Puerto Rico
Conservación ConCiencia is a non-profit organization in Puerto Rico dedicated to environmental research and conservation that aims to promote sustainable development by working collaboratively with communities, governments, academia and the private sector. Their mission is to implement effective, science based conservation actions that move our societies towards sustainability. Conservación ConCiencia focuses on projects in Puerto Rico and Cuba, including the following: Puerto Rico’s first shark research and conservation program in collaboration with the seafood industry; analyzing parrotfish supply chain and its market in Puerto Rico; promoting commercial fisheries exchange between Puerto Rico and Cuba with lessons learned from successful fisheries management and promoting Cuban fishers access to local markets for entrepreneurial opportunities. Another example of their work is a large scale restoration of mangroves and seagrass project, in collaboration with The Ocean Foundation.
Conservacion Internacional (Colombia)

The CI Colombia program began with the Eastern Tropical Pacific Seascape (ETPS) initiative, created in 2005, with the aim of generating voluntary cooperation between Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador, to strengthen the management of marine protected areas of the territorial seas. This includes management and conservation areas for strategic species, and offering economic alternatives to local communities, to ensure the sustainability of marine-coastal resources and local communities. Coral reef rehabilitation and recovery of fish stocks are part of their programme.
Conservacion Internacional (Ecuador)

International Conservation Ecuador has been working for 20 years for the conservation of natural ecosystems and services to ensure the human well-being of current and future generations. Their marine programmes include protection of the ocean while innovating new ways to sustain marine fisheries. Together with the Ministry of the Environment and Water in Ecuador, this involves promoting the effective management of marine and coastal protected areas, the conservation of mangroves and the management of coastal fisheries.

Conservation International Brazil is part of a global organization that works to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. They have a presence in Brazil and have worked on marine conservation initiatives in the country, including the aim expand Brazil's marine and coastal protected areas, while creating ways to make artisanal fisheries more sustainable. This is achieved by encouraging monitoring and inclusion of coastal ecosystems in environmental policies and promoting better fishing practices.

Comoros
Dahari’s mission is to create sustainable and productive landscapes with Comorian communities. This includes preserving rivers and marine ecosystems while improving the living conditions of the population. Their strategy grounded in five areas: rural development (agriculture, agroforestry, livestock farming), the management of terrestrial natural resources, the management of marine resources, biodiversity conservation (including ecological research) and ecotourism. The marine projects focus on sustainable fishing including sustainable techniques and diversification into alternatives such as drying, monitoring fisheries and coral reefs, and conservation education by engaging the local public in marine management initiatives. One such success was the temporary closure of four octopus fisheries which significantly increased catches after a short time.
David Suzuki Foundation

The David Suzuki Foundation works with government, business and individuals to conserve our environment by providing science-based research, education and policy work, and acting as a catalyst for the change that today's situation demands. The foundation is dedicated to protecting the diversity of nature and inspiring Canadians to act with nature in mind. They advocate for better management and protection of coastal waters to help endangered species and restore biodiversity, sustainable fishing, and protection of marine life .
Deep Sea Conservation Coalition
Netherlands
The DSCC was founded to address the issue of bottom trawling on the high seas in the absence of an effective governance regime. The coalition is made up of over 70 non-governmental organisations (NGOs), fishers organisations and law and policy institutes, all committed to protecting the deep sea. The alliance works to promote the conservation of biodiversity on the high seas, and is calling on the United Nations General Assembly to institute a moratorium on high seas bottom trawling in order to protect seamounts, cold-water corals and vulnerable deep-sea ecosystems. DSCC members include local, regional, national and international conservation and environmental organizations.

Dilmah Conservation was established with the stated purpose ' to extend the Dilmah philosophy of making business a matter of human service, to include the protection of and sustainable interaction with the environment'. To this end, they are involved in many areas of conservation, including a marine programme which focuses on conserving marine habitats (including 'carrying out species diversity assessments, information sharing and working with relevant local and national institutions to ensure conservation of these habitats') and conserving the endangered Dugong via an information dissemination campaign targeting school children and fisher communities in the North of the country, as well as carrying out surveys and information gathering.
ECO : Environment and Conservation Organizations of Aotearoa New Zealand

ECO is a network of fifty-plus large and small environmental organisations in New Zealand, as well as several hundred individuals. 'The core of ECO’s work is promoting and strengthening community environmental action, and working collaboratively towards better government policies and management decisions. ECO also works on global issues such as climate change, Antarctica, and oceans.' Amongst their focus areas related to marine issues, are: protection of the Ross Sea and Southern Ocean in Antarctica, expansion of aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, protection of coastal areas, oceans policies and marine protection.
